JUST IN: WORKER TRAPPED AS STOREY BUILDING PARTLY COLLAPSES IN ABEOKUTA

Part of a storey building collapsed on Thursday afternoon in the Iyanaoloke area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, leaving one worker trapped beneath the rubble.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 p.m., according to eyewitnesses.
Sources at the scene said two workers were at the site when the structure gave way. While one managed to escape unhurt, the other was reportedly buried under the debris.
Officials of the Ogun State Fire Service, alongside residents, were making efforts to rescue the trapped victim as of the time of filing this report.
The collapse attracted a large crowd of residents and passersby, causing tension in the area as rescue operations continued.
Details surrounding the cause of the collapse were yet to be ascertained at press time.
