The Ogun State Government has paid a visit to a Nigerian TikToker, Mirabel (@mirab351), who is currently receiving medical care after alleging in a viral social media video that she was raped.
The visit was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye.
According to the Commissioner, the Ogun State Government has activated a coordinated, multi-sectoral response to the allegation of sexual assault. She revealed that the victim has been admitted to a state-owned health facility, where she is undergoing comprehensive medical treatment alongside investigative and psychosocial support.
Adeleye added that Mirabel has been responding positively to treatment, explaining that the hospital visit was undertaken to assess her condition and ensure that all necessary medical and welfare interventions are being promptly provided.
The Commissioner explained that the structured response was designed to safeguard the survivor’s wellbeing while ensuring that investigations are handled professionally, comprehensively, and strictly based on verifiable evidence.
She noted that thorough medical examinations and all necessary clinical procedures are being conducted in accordance with established protocols for managing alleged sexual assault cases, while security agencies are carrying out parallel investigations.

Reaffirming the government’s position, Adeleye stressed that the welfare, dignity, and safety of every survivor remain paramount, adding that the administration of Dapo Abiodun upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual and gender-based violence.
The Commissioner emphasized that while the government stands firmly with survivors, all actions are guided by due process. “Investigations must be evidence-based, transparent, and fair to all parties involved. Anyone found culpable will face the full force of the law,” she said.
Adeleye commended the Ogun State Police Command for its prompt response following the transfer of the case from Lagos State authorities. She also praised the swift intervention of the medical team at the state-owned health facility and the support of the State Ministry of Justice.
She urged the public to avoid speculation or sensational commentary that could undermine due process and ongoing investigations, assuring that updates would be provided as credible findings emerge.
According to reports by The Media, Mirabel alleged that she was attacked and raped by a stranger in the Ogijo area of Ogun State on Sunday. She claimed that a male suspect forcibly entered her apartment and sexually assaulted her.
The allegation sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling for swift justice and stronger protections for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.
