ALLEGED HERDSMEN ATTACK SPARKS FEAR IN BENUE COMMUNITY

Residents of Obagaji in Agatu, Benue State, are living in fear following a renewed security alert warning of a potential attack by armed herdsmen.
The warning, which circulated widely on social media early Monday, cited what it described as a credible intelligence report indicating that armed men might be moving toward the community. Residents were urged to stay vigilant and take precautionary measures.
The alert specifically advised people in Agatu and surrounding settlements to notify family members and community leaders immediately, emphasizing the need for caution and preparedness.
Anxiety has increased among locals, with several residents reportedly contacting security agencies for reassurance and protection. Many have called on authorities to boost security in the area and provide clear information to prevent panic.
As of the time of reporting, the Benue State Police Command and other security agencies have not issued any official confirmation regarding the alleged threat.
