POLICE ARREST SUSPECT, RECOVER LOCALLY MADE PISTOL DURING STOP-AND-SEARCH IN MUSHIN

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M,” and recovered a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of Lagos State.
The arrest was carried out on March 5, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. by operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team from the Mushin Division during a routine patrol along the LUTH Road axis in Mushin.
According to the police, the patrol team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, intercepted the suspect after observing him carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag and behaving suspiciously.
A search conducted on the bag led to the recovery of one locally made pistol. Other items recovered from the suspect included a black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the suspect had allegedly been involved in criminal activities within the area and was linked to disturbances in the community.
The suspect is currently in police custody while further investigations continue. Authorities also said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the suspect’s alleged criminal group.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the Command’s commitment to proactive policing and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
He urged members of the public to support the police with credible and timely information through the Command’s emergency lines, assuring residents that the police remain dedicated to protecting lives and property.
