TROOPS NEUTRALIZE A SUSPECTED TERRORIST IN KOGI STATE

Troops of 12 Brigade have eliminated a suspected terrorist during a combat patrol in the Odoape–Adankolo Forest, located in the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
This was disclosed in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security analyst focused on the Lake Chad region.
According to the source, the incident occurred around 1400 hours on March 23, 2026, when the patrol team engaged a fleeing suspect.
According to Makama, preliminary investigations revealed that the neutralized individual was a notorious terrorist linked to intelligence gathering and target identification for kidnappings, as well as cattle rustling and the supply of logistics to terrorist groups.

“The military has reiterated its commitment to maintaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-driven operations to combat criminal activities and safeguard residents in the area,” the source stated.
The media recalls that Kogi State has recently emerged as a hotspot for banditry, with numerous residents abducted and others losing their lives in the process.
