MBAH APPROVES PROMOTION OF 2,114 ENUGU CIVIL SERVANTS

The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has approved the promotion and conversion of 2,114 personnel in the state civil service.
The approval followed the conclusion of the November/December 2025 promotion and conversion exercises conducted across various cadres.
Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, Robison Odo, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the approval takes immediate effect, including the financial benefits attached to the new ranks.
According to Odo, the exercise covered officers from Grade Levels 01 to 17 who successfully passed the required interviews and examinations. He added that all administrative processes have been finalised to ensure beneficiaries begin receiving their updated salaries without delay.
The chairman also revealed that the commission is fast-tracking the implementation of the governor’s directive to reflect the changes in the state payroll system.
Odo linked the development to the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, citing the state’s N80,000 minimum wage—above the national benchmark—as part of ongoing efforts to improve the well-being of civil servants. He further assured that salaries, pensions, and gratuities remain a priority despite significant investments in infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Head of Service, Godwin Anigbo, described the exercise as part of broader reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency within the public service. He highlighted initiatives such as digital competency training and the transition from analogue to technology-driven operations.
Anigbo added that his office is working closely with the Civil Service Commission to ensure discipline and alignment with the state’s development goals.
