Popular Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse—better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM)—has revealed that a petition he submitted against controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly called Blessing CEO, has been accepted for investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

This follows growing controversy over Blessing CEO’s recent claim that she is battling stage four cancer.

On March 25, 2026, Blessing CEO posted a viral video on her Instagram page, where she tearfully alleged she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer. In the clip, she also displayed visible hair loss, which she attributed to the illness.

Following the announcement, she disclosed that she had started selling off some of her properties to raise money for her cancer treatment.

However, the situation took a different turn after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, denied any connection to a histology report circulating online that had been linked to her.

The association explained that the document was allegedly tampered with and originally belonged to another patient who had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

It will be recalled that Blessing CEO had earlier shared the medical report online to back up her claim while appealing to the public for financial support.

After facing widespread criticism and accusations of manipulating the report, she later withdrew her initial statement.

Speaking during an interview amid the controversy, she clarified, “I don’t have stage four cancer. It was a miscommunication.”

She also revealed that the total amount she received in donations was 13 million naira.

She later went on to deactivate her social media account.

Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan explained that he chose to file a petition after personally donating money to Blessing CEO, believing her claims.

In a video shared on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, VDM said he was moved by compassion after watching the clip in which she shaved her hair.

“I believed her because she shaved her hair, and I felt compassion. That day, even though I had nothing left in my account, I still sent her money,” he said.

He expressed disappointment over the situation, emphasizing that many people genuinely battling cancer deserve empathy and support.

“There are many people living with cancer. How can someone make light of something like this?” he added.

VDM further revealed that he had formally submitted a petition to the police over the matter.

“I have written a petition against Blessing CEO and the Inspector General of Police has assigned it for investigation,” he stated.
