Oil & Gas Technology :Chevron employs16800,Trains 8114 Nigerians.
In its quest to acquire oil and gas technology and build indigenous capacity to service the nation’s oil and gas industry, Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)/CNL Joint Venture, has employed over 16,800 and trained 8,114 Nigerians in various aspects of skills acquisition programmes.
Besides, the International Oil Company (IOC) has offered scholarships to Nigerian seamen for dynamic positioning training at PEM Offshore Limited, a marine training facility with a contract worth $1m and collaborated with the Nigerian Content Development Management Board (NCDMB) to assist over 600 community graduates to register in the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGICJQS).
According to Chevron in a statement, the Escravos Gas-to-Liquids (EGTL) project provided employment to more than 15,000 Nigerians during the construction phase of the project.
