KUNLE REMI RESPONDS TO AMVCA NOMINATION DENIAL

Kunle Remi, a Nollywood actor, has addressed his omission from the nomination list for the 9th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2023.
On Sunday, popular TV personalities Bisola Aiyeola and Adjetey Anang announced the nominees for the coveted awards. However, much to many people’s astonishment, the actor’s name was notably absent from the list, despite his great performance as ‘Saro’ in the film ‘Anikulapo,’ which received a whopping 16 nominations.
After several Nigerian moviegoers expressed surprise at Remi’s omission from the AMVCA nomination list in the ‘Best Actor’ category, the actor took to Instagram on Monday to express his appreciation for the unwavering support from his fans and fellow colleagues. He also extended his congratulations to his peers who were nominated for this year’s AMVCA Awards.
He even joked about winning his category on May 20, the day of the AMVCA award presentation, if he had been named to the list of nominees. Despite the absence, Remi’s Instagram post was full of comedy and positivity, demonstrating his capacity to cope with the situation.
“I’ve been seeing all the tags since the AMVCA nomination announcement,” he wrote. It would be irresponsible not to acknowledge the love, calls, and texts. “Many thanks, kindred,” he wrote.
“First and foremost, congratulations to all my friends/colleagues; this year would not be the same without your incredible work and effort.” God help una, because if I Dey the categories, I’m going to win (Joke) before una says otherwise. Let the strongest man win.”
Kunle Remi, born Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi, is a multifaceted Nigerian artist noted for his work as an actor, producer, director, content creator, host, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and model.
He has appeared in a number of projects, including Falling, Family Forever, Tinsel, and Anikulapo, Prophetess, demonstrating his diverse skills and ability as a performer. In addition, he won the 7th edition of Gulder’s Ultimate Search in 2010, showing his prowess and success in the entertainment sector.
