JUST IN: WIKE, FUBARA MEET AT ASO VILLA AMID RIVERS GOV IMPEACHMENT PLOT
Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, and Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), met at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.
As soon as they met, the two were spotted shaking hands.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members and the two politicians met after the Rivers State House of Assembly began the process of impeaching Fubara on Monday.
The Nigeria Police Council, a constitutional body that supervises the management and structure of the Nigeria Police Force, looked to be meeting in the villa with Fubara and Wike, the governor of Rivers State who just left office.
Bola Tinubu is the President of the Council.
The Council is composed of the Inspector-General of Police, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and the Governor of each state in the Federation.
The Nigeria Police Council convened for the last time on June 4, 2021, with President Muhammadu Buhari serving as the meeting’s chairman.
