By Ajape Sefiu
Two brand-new 100/125MVA power transformers have been put into service at the 330/132/33kV Alagbon Transmission Substation in Lagos State by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Lagos Region.
The ceremony for commissioning was held today, January 18, 2024.
The substation’s capacity has grown from 240MVA to 440MVA with the commissioning of two 100/125 MVA ower transformers.
In addition, the commissioning has also improved bulk power transmission to Eko DisCo, which will be distributed to its consumers in IKOYI, VICTORIA ISLAND, BANANA ISLAND, some areas of LAGOS ISLAND, and LEKKI.
However, this project is part of the ongoing TCN’s rehabilitation projects to boost power supply nationwide.
