In one of the biggest shocks of the season, Liverpool lost 1-0 at home to Crystal Palace, severely harming their chances of winning the Premier League title.
It was Eberechi Eze who slotted home from close range to give the visitors a surprise 14th-minute lead at Anfield.
Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones all had massive chances to equalise but were unforgivably wasteful in front of goal.
Palace could have made sure of the points late on but Jean-Philippe Mateta was astonishingly denied by Alisson from just six yards out.
Yet Liverpool still failed to find an equaliser and dropped three points that could prove crucial in the title race.
The result which gave Liverpool its first home league defeat of the season, leaves Jurgen Klopp’s men two points adrift of Manchester City and behind Arsenal on goal difference.
Mikel Arteta’s side’s game in hand comes at home to Aston Villa on Sunday evening.
