
ACCIDENT: ONE REPORTED DEAD AS CAR COLLIDES WITH TRUCK AT ISOLO UNDER BRIDGE
In a head-on incident on Friday at Isolo Under Bridge within Oshodi, Lagos State, involving a stationary 20-foot containerised truck and a Kia automobile with registration number KWL-475CZ, one person has been reported dead.
The tragic occurrence happened when the car and the truck, which was going at a high speed on the highway, collided, according to a statement released by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
A female passenger in the automobile died as a result of the force of the impact, and the driver was seriously hurt and sent to a local hospital right away.
The agency made a statement to the press stating that as soon as they learned about the accident, both their officers and the Nigeria Police sprung into action and began aggressively working to free the trapped person inside the automobile.
Following a successful extraction using minimal rescue equipment, the victim was bagged and given to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transfer to the mortuary.
Additionally, the damaged car was hauled to the Olosan Police Station after being recovered with the help of a tow truck.
“Meanwhile, we are awaiting the Agency’s heavy duty equipment i.e. a Crane and Lowbed to recover the abandoned containerised truck off the road,” the statement titled ‘PRELIMINARY REPORT OF THE ROAD ACCIDENT AT ISOLO UNDER BRIDGE INWARD OSHODI’ added.
The identities of the victims were yet to be known at the time of filing this report
