UNILORIN STUDENTS INJURED IN LONE AUTO ACCIDENT
Some students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) sustained varying degrees of injury in a lone auto accident along the University Road on Thursday afternoon.
It was gathered that the accident, which involved a small commercial bus, popularly called ‘Korope’, was a result of a tire burst while the bus was in motion.
The auto crash, which occurred close to the university gate, saw some of the university’s security officials trying to manage the situation.
An eyewitness said that one of the victims of the accident lost her arm, while another female victim was said to appear lifeless on the road.
A video of the accident scene circulating in the Ilorin metropolis on Thursday showed victims of the accident on the road writhing in pain, while a female student with blood on her head appeared lifeless on the road.
Another victim, a man in a suit, was struggling to stand up, but had lost control of himself and was falling as he tried to.
A spokesman for the school, Kunle Akogun, who confirmed the accident, however, said that there was no casualty.
Akogun said that those involved in the accident were being treated at the school clinic.
