NATIONWIDE PROTEST: POLICE DETAINS 50 INDIVIDUALS IN NASARAWA
The Nigeria police have detained 50 individuals in Nasarawa state following Thursday’s nationwide protest.
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, announced the arrests on Friday.
The detainees were taken into custody for attacking police officers and disrupting public order.
The breakdown includes 25 arrests in Lafia, 16 in Karu, six in Keffi, and three in Mararaba-Udege within Nasarawa Local Government Areas.
Nansel stated that the arrested individuals are undergoing further interrogation and investigation.
He assured that the police and other security agencies will maintain professionalism in managing the protests and warned that those attempting to cause disorder under the guise of protests will face legal consequences.
