CHIKE REPLIES CRITIC WHO CLAIMED MOHBAD ‘MADE’ HIM
Chike, a Nigerian artist, made news after offering N1 million to a critic who claimed his success was mainly owing to his late colleague Mohbad.
The altercation occurred on X (previously Twitter) after Chike posted a clip from an unreleased song on Tuesday.
The critic, Daniel Omowonuola Lawal (@Hateofx), insinuated that Chike’s fame was a result of his work with the late singer Mohbad, writing: “Mohbad made you.”
In response, Chike gently questioned Lawal’s accomplishment, implying that the critic would struggle to accomplish anything on his own.
Chike’s response was: “Your mother made you, but I hope you find someone to MAKE you coz I don’t see you doing it yourself. Jesus stays king (black love emoji).”
Lawal responded, alleging that Mohbad was critical to Chike’s success, particularly his excellent streaming numbers.
The artist then adopted a more direct approach, mocking Lawal and citing a money donation of N1 million.
He wrote, “Now I doubt your mother even made you right. If she didn’t teach you manners she should have taught you research. I for send you like 1M now, make hunger comot your eye make you see road but your account fit collapse. Let the good guy rest in peace.”
Following this exchange, Lawal provided his account details, and Chike promptly transferred the N1 million. Chike shared a receipt of the transaction on X, captioned: “Hungry boy go and eat.”
