
MAN CHARGED WITH STARVING, ASSAULT ON 11-YEAR-OLD STEPSON IN LAGOS
A 45-year-old man, Aramide Tito, was on Monday docked in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly starving and assaulting his 11-year-old stepson.
The defendant, whose address was not given, is charged with indecent deal, assault and attempted murder.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, ASP Clément Okuomiose, told the court that the defendant committed the offense on Aug. 17, at about 11:00 p.m., at Oke Oje Area, Atura, Badagry.
Okuomiose alleged that the defendant unlawfully beat up and starved his son stepson for three days.
“The defendant poured hot water on him while he was sleeping.
“He attempted to murder the boy while he was sleeping.
The offense, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 135, 245 and 230 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state, 2015,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. J.A. Aina, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Aina adjourned the case until Sept. 25, for hearing.
