The community of Kakin Dawa, which is located in Gidan Goga, Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, has been attacked by gunmen who are thought to be bandits.
Fifty women and children were kidnapped by the thugs.
The assailants, armed with advanced weaponry, entered the village at around 1:30 am on Sunday and proceeded from house to home, according to a local resident.
“Everyone started running because the armed bandits have been targeting our village; later we discovered that more than 50 of our women were abducted”.
He went on to say that married women and little girls were among the abducted victims.
In order to combat the terrorists, he urged the federal government and the Zamfara State administration to send more military and security forces to the axis.
As of the time this story was filed, however, attempts to obtain ASP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the State police command, had not been successful.
