
DELTA STATE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY IN SHOCK AS GUNMEN MURDER STAFF
Staff members at Delta State University (DELSU) in Abraka are mourning the loss of one of their own, Mr. Olisaemeka Chukwuma.
Chukwuma, 56, who worked in the Bursary Department, was killed at his home in the St. Bridges area of Umueji, Asaba, the capital of Delta State, over the weekend.
Reports indicate that he had gone to Asaba for his regular weekend visit when the tragic event took place.
The institution’s bursar, Mrs Otimeyin Ekakitie-Omajuwa, described the incident as “very shocking and unexpected death.”
“He was a very good jolly fellow. He had a good relationship with everyone. You will never hear him raise his voice against anyone. He was always smiling and happy,” she lamented.

The bursar prayed God to give the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
Also, a university staff, Mr. Moses Darah, who took to his Facebook page to mourn the loss, said the deceased “was known for his peaceful and jovial nature.”
“I urge the police authorities to thoroughly investigate this incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“As I speak to you now, Asaba is no longer safe, we are confused over the situation,” he said.
Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Delta command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and that the matter was being investigated.
