LATEEF ADEDIMEJI TO PRODUCE MOVIE ON EKITI PARAPO WAR WITH WORLD-CLASS PRODUCTION
Nollywood stars Lateef Adedimeji and his wife Adebimpe Adedimeji have secured the backing of the Ekiti State Government to produce a movie about the Ekiti Parapo War.
The film will vividly portray the struggles and triumphs of the Ekiti people against oppression, offering a detailed and high-quality production of the historical war.
This was announced by Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday.
According to Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji approved the film’s production during a meeting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.
The movie will be a joint effort between the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company, owned by the Nollywood couple.
Oyebode confirmed that the project will be fully funded by the private sector, with AL Notions Film Company, known for producing Lisabi: The Uprising, taking the lead.
“They will be working with a team from Ekiti State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, led by the Honourable Commissioner of the ministry, Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare, one of Africa’s most accomplished Artistic Directors,” he said.
Adebimpe Adedimeji, originally from Ijero-Ekiti, and her husband expressed their excitement about leading the project and committed to giving it their full attention.
The film, which will be shot in various towns and villages across Ekiti, is expected to feature many talented artists, including those from the region.
