
BANDITS KILL 4 LOCALS, KIDNAP LG VICE CHAIRMAN ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS IN ZAMFARA COMMUNITIES
Bandits have killed four people and reportedly abducted the Vice Chairman of Bukkuyyum Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Hon. Bala Muhammad Maijidadi, along with several others in the region.
The attacks, which were coordinated, occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning.
In a phone interview on Tuesday night, a local resident, Nasiru Adamu, stated that the gunmen raided Shemori community in the Mada District of Gusau at around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, taking six women captive.
It was also reported that early on Monday, another group of bandits attacked Kairu community in Zugu District, killing two people and kidnapping an unknown number of others.
In Mada town within Gusau district, the assailants targeted Hayin Bajumi and set fire to the house of one Aliyu Usman.
“The fire incident killed two of his children, five-year-old Ishaq Aliyu and two-year-old Jafar Aliyu.
“The gunmen also abducted Usman’s neighbour’s wife, along with her one-year-old baby before fleeing the scene,” the source disclosed.
At the time this report was written, all efforts to reach ASP Yazeed Abubakar, the State police spokesperson, for a response had been unsuccessful.
