25-YEAR-OLD MAN STABBED TO DEATH BY MENTALLY UNSTABLE MAN IN NIGER
Mubarak, a man suspected of mental instability, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for fatally stabbing Shamseen Danshehu, a 25-year-old woman.
Mubarak was accused of fisticuffing Danshehu and stabbing him in the chest during the altercation, which happened on Sunday night in the Kwangila neighborhood of Minna, the state capital.
After being taken to the adjacent Minna General Hospital, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The locals claimed they had no idea what started the altercation but that they frequently spotted Mubarak wandering the streets and scrounging in people’s trash cans.
Wasiu Abiodun, the state police command’s spokesperson, confirmed Danshehu’s passing on Monday.
Additionally, he revealed that the suspect had been taken into custody.
“It was reported that one Mubarak, who is suspected of insanity and also scavenging around Kwangila, had a fight with a passerby, Shamsu Danshehu 25 years of the same area.
“During the fight, the said scavenger stabbed Shamsu on the chest with scissors.
“The victim was rushed to the general hospital but gave up the ghost in the hospital and confirmed dead. The suspect was arrested for further investigation,” Abiodun said.
