ADAMAWA: FUFORE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN SHUAIBU BABAS DIES

The chairman of Fufore Local Government Council in Adamawa State, Shuaibu Babas, has died.
Babas, who assumed office in July last year, passed away on Wednesday after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
While details about his condition were not made public, a family source confirmed he had been ill for some time.
Before his election as chairman, Babas had served as the representative for Fufore/Gurin constituency in the State House of Assembly and also held the position of sole administrator of Malabu Development Area.
He has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.
Although there has been no official statement yet, his death could potentially lead to the emergence of the first female local government chairman in Adamawa in recent times.
The current vice chairperson of Fufore, Mrs. Peace Samson Audu, is among 21 female vice chairpersons inaugurated last year alongside 21 male chairmen across the state.
