The Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), Aba Zone, has called on members of the public to assist in locating Mr. Emmanuel Obodoezie, a tricycle rider based in Aba, for the purpose of offering him a well-deserved reward.

According to the union, Obodoezie demonstrated an exceptional level of honesty and integrity by returning N2.04 million that a passenger had accidentally left behind in his tricycle near the Free Zone area by Ariaria International Market in Aba.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of ASTOPU, Aba Zone, Victor Azubuike, the union praised Obodoezie for choosing to do the right thing by returning the large sum to the rightful owner, Mrs. Chika Aloysius-Iwu, a trader at Ariaria, despite the tough economic challenges currently facing Nigerians.

Azubuike said that the action of the said transporter became a shining hope and moral strength in the society.

“In recognition of his honesty and service to humanity, the ASTOPU Aba Zone wishes to formally reward and honour Mr. Obodoezie for his exemplary conduct.

“We are therefore calling on Mr. Emmanuel Obodoezie, or anyone who knows him, to visit the ASTOPU office at Azikiwe Road, Aba, on or before Saturday, May 17, 2025.

“ASTOPU will not rest until he is found and duly celebrated”, the statement said.
