EX-KADUNA LG CHAIRMAN, NASARA RABO DUMPS APC

A former two-term chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Hon. Nasara Rabo, has formally resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing personal reasons for his departure.
Rabo, who began his political journey as a councillor representing Iddah Ward under the now-defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, announced his resignation in a letter obtained by HOTJIST on Saturday.
His exit is seen as a notable political development in the region, given his longstanding influence and active involvement in grassroots politics across Southern Kaduna.
While confirming the move, Rabo stated that his decision was driven by personal convictions. However, he did not indicate whether he intends to align with another political party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I have taken this decision after wide consultations and based on personal reasons,” he said.
Sources close to the former chairman say the move may not be unconnected to recent political realignments and internal party dynamics at the local and state levels.
Rabo served as chairman of Kagarko Local Government Council for two consecutive terms and was widely regarded as a strong mobilizer for the APC during its formative years in the state.
His exit adds to a growing list of resignations and defections from the APC in Kaduna State amid rising internal disputes and pre-election manoeuvrings.
Efforts to reach APC party officials in the local government for a reaction were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
