NAHCON AIRLIFTS OVER 14,000 PILGRIMS IN 2025 HAJJ RETURN OPERATIONS

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed the successful airlift of hundreds of pilgrims from Sokoto and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, marking continued progress in the 2025 Hajj return operations.

According to a report from the NAHCON Command and Control Centre in Makkah, shared via the Commission’s official X handle on Saturday morning, Flynas flight XY9082 departed Jeddah at 07:51 a.m. (local time) with 422 Sokoto pilgrims and four officials on board — bringing the total number of pilgrims airlifted so far to 13,589 across 32 flights.

Shortly after, another Flynas flight, XY9022, left Jeddah for Abuja at 10:33 a.m. (local time), carrying 425 FCT pilgrims along with four officials. This latest operation brings the overall number of pilgrims airlifted for the 2025 Hajj to 14,014 across 33 completed flights.

The report read, “Flynas flight, XY9082, departed Jeddah for Sokoto at 07:51hrs (local time) today. On board were 422 Sokoto pilgrims accompanied by 4 officials, bringing the total number of pilgrims airlifted so far to 13,589 across 32 flights.

“Subsequently, another Flynas flight, XY9022, took off from Jeddah, heading to Abuja at 10:33hrs (local time). This flight conveyed 425 FCT pilgrims along with 4 officials. With this latest departure, the overall total airlift for the 2025 Hajj has now reached 14,014 pilgrims on 33 completed flights.”

The continuous airlift operations are a testament to NAHCON’s dedication to ensuring a smooth and timely pilgrimage for all Nigerian intending pilgrims.

“Our commitment to a smooth Hajj airlift remains unwavering. We are steadily progressing in conveying all Nigerian pilgrims to the Holy Land for their spiritual journey,” the NAHCON Command and Control Centre stated via its official X platform in an update on Saturday, June 15, 2025, highlighting the Commission’s ongoing efforts.

NAHCON continues to monitor and coordinate all flights from its control centre in Makkah, working closely with airlines and relevant authorities to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of all Nigerian pilgrims.
