Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested three notorious and wanted kidnappers following a coordinated intelligence-led operation across Wukushi in Mpape, Abuja, and Rigina in Kaduna State.

The suspects Abdulkadir Abubakar of Mpape, Abuja; Mohammed Tasiu Sani, 25, of Rigina, Kaduna State; and Suleiman Jibrin, 27, from Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State, were apprehended on Sunday, June 29, 2025, during a strategic operation led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Victor O. Godfrey.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the FCT Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were said to have operated deadly kidnapping camps deep within the forests of Kachia and Rigina in Kaduna State. These camps were used to detain abductees and have been linked to a series of kidnappings across Jere, Kajuru, and parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

“In the continued effort to rid the FCT and its environs of criminal elements, the operatives of the command, acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao Adewale, successfully apprehended the suspects through a well-coordinated and intelligence-driven operation,” the statement read.

Adeh further disclosed that an operational motorcycle, commonly referred to as a “Boko Haram motorcycle,” was recovered from the suspects, with ongoing efforts to retrieve more weapons and apprehend fleeing accomplices.

The suspects are currently in police custody and are cooperating with investigators to expose the full extent of their network.

SP Adeh described the arrests as a “significant breakthrough” in the command’s ongoing campaign to restore safety and public confidence across the FCT and surrounding regions.
