JUST IN: CDCFIB REOPENS RECRUITMENT PORTAL AFTER UPGRADE, URGES APPLICANTS TO COMPLETE PENDING SUBMISSIONS

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has reopened its recruitment portal following a brief suspension aimed at resolving technical difficulties and enhancing system capacity.
In a tweet on its official X (formerly twitter) page on Monday, the board confirmed that “all issues with the portal successfully resolved”, adding that its technical team remains on standby to address any further observations.
“Our technical team are on standby for any further observation.”
The portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — is now fully active for applicants seeking to join the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service, and Federal Fire Service.
Applicants who had already started their applications have been advised to return to the portal and complete the process.
“Kindly be informed that applicants who have successfully initiated their applications are advised to retrieve their applications and complete their applications they have initiated,” the statement read.
CDCFIB attributed the temporary disruption to the high volume of applications, noting that the suspension allowed for critical upgrades to improve overall performance and ensure fairness.
“We sincerely apologize for the interruption in the application submission process. Due to the high volume of applications, it was necessary to enhance the system to ensure it can accommodate all applicants, thereby facilitating a seamless, transparent, and equitable recruitment process,” the board stated.
The portal initially went live on July 14 but was temporarily taken offline days later after thousands of applicants experienced persistent access issues, including system crashes, failed submissions, and long wait times.
The reopening follows growing public concern and calls for an extension of the application period to allow all eligible candidates to apply without technical hindrances.
