Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has terminated the appointment of Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, the state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, effective immediately.

Mr. Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser for Media and Publicity to the Governor, conveyed this information in a statement released early Monday.

He noted that this decision was prompted by a minor adjustment in the configuration of the State Executive Council.

“In this regard, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her role with immediate effect.

The governor expresses gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for her contributions to the State and wishes her success in her future pursuits,” Gidado stated.

This news follows the recent dismissal of two senior government officials by the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission on charges of forgery.

A statement from Saleh Umar, the Information and Public Relations Officer of the commission, which was made accessible to the media last Wednesday, indicated that the misconduct violated State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi), pertaining to forgery and the falsification of official documents.

Additionally, the commission dismissed an education officer on September 11 due to serious misconduct related to sexual harassment.
