Nollywood film Oversabi Aunty has surpassed the ₦1 billion mark at the box office, emerging as the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

The milestone was announced by distributor FilmOne in an Instagram post, which disclosed that the film has earned ₦1,017,201,953 in cinemas across West Africa. The achievement also makes Oversabi Aunty the first Nollywood directorial debut to cross the ₦1 billion threshold.

Celebrating the feat, FilmOne thanked audiences across the region for their overwhelming support, describing the success as a “full celebration” and a significant boost for the Nigerian film industry.

The announcement sparked widespread excitement on social media, with fans and industry colleagues congratulating the cast and crew.

Actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington reacted with an enthusiastic “Yassssss,” while a fan identified as #stunnurse1 noted, “That’s true ooo, first directorial debut to hit a billion.”

Another user, #tung_styn, wrote, “Can there be two queens please… This is beyond amazing and extraordinary. God bless her and her supporters.” Others also shared celebratory messages, expressing pride and excitement over the achievement.

Earlier report Oversabi Aunty grossed over ₦711 million within its first 18 days in cinemas, placing it among the top-earning Nollywood films even before reaching the ₦1 billion milestone.
