Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has criticised ex-national team coach Samson Siasia, describing him as a “weird” manager.
Onazi claimed Siasia was the only Super Eagles coach who regularly benched him during his international career. The former Lazio midfielder made the remarks on a recent Podcast.
“I don’t think I ever had problems in the Super Eagles; things were always good for me,” Onazi said. “In almost all the matches I played, about 98 per cent, I was in the starting line-up.
“It was only when Siasia took over that things changed. He managed just two games, and we lost both. One was against Egypt, and he was dismissed shortly after. He was strange.”
