President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday received the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting centered on security developments in Kaduna State, with Governor Sani briefing the President on the successful rescue of worshippers abducted from churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, on January 18, 2026.
The governor explained that the victims were freed through coordinated joint operations by state and federal security agencies, resulting in their safe release over the past week.
The abduction had occurred when gunmen attacked three churches in the community, kidnapping more than 100 worshippers and sparking widespread concern across the state.
In a related update, Governor Sani on Thursday welcomed 183 rescued victims who had spent 19 days in captivity, marking a significant milestone in ongoing security efforts in the area.
