BANGLADESH VOICES CONCERN OVER MIDDLE EAST CRISIS, CALLS FOR TALKS

The Bangladesh government has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of conflict in the Middle East, lamenting the failure of diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
In a statement on Sunday, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations in the region.
“Bangladesh reaffirms its longstanding commitment to peace, stability, and security in the Middle East and calls on the international community to intensify efforts to restore calm and promote dialogue,” the ministry said following an emergency meeting.
The emergency session, attended by Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam among others, reviewed the rapidly evolving situation in the region.

Bangladesh emphasized that disputes can only be resolved through dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law, urging all parties to exercise restraint, avoid further escalation, and engage in urgent diplomatic initiatives to reduce tensions.
Additionally, the ministry announced that Bangladesh has suspended all flights to the Middle East until further notice.
