Despite the setback, Arsenal still have two major competitions to contest—the Premier League and the Champions League. In the league, they remain nine points ahead of Manchester City with seven games remaining.

Shearer questioned the potential “mental” effect of the FA Cup exit on Mikel Arteta’s squad, telling Betfair: “After Arsenal got knocked out of the FA Cup, it will be incredibly tough for them, mentally, to go on and achieve what they want to achieve.”
