Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Nwogu, has announced the reopening of his nightclub, Proxy Lagos, nearly seven months after it was shut following a raid by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

In a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the nightlife entrepreneur, popularly known as Pretty Mike, reflected on the personal and professional challenges he faced after the raid, which coincided with the loss of his father.

Describing the period as one of deep emotional strain, he said the experience “broke” him, noting that beyond his public persona, he had to deal with grief and the burden of rebuilding his business.

He recounted the impact of the NDLEA operation, stating that the incident disrupted his business, affected his staff and clients, and damaged his brand reputation. Despite the setback, he said the experience strengthened his resolve.

Pretty Mike described the reopening of Proxy Lagos as more than a return to business, calling it a “comeback” for himself and those who supported him through the difficult period. He urged patrons and supporters to rally behind the brand as it resumes operations.

The NDLEA had, in the early hours of October 26, 2025, raided the nightclub located on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, following intelligence reports of a planned “drug party.”

According to the agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, over 100 suspects, including the club owner and former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh, were arrested during the operation. Authorities also recovered cartons of banned substances, including Loud and laughing gas.

Following the raid, the NDLEA filed a forfeiture suit against the nightclub, while Pretty Mike and the club’s supervisor, Joachim Hillary, were arraigned on charges including conspiracy, unlawful possession, and permitting the use of the premises for illegal drug activities.

He was subsequently granted bail in the sum of N50 million by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The reopening marks a significant step in the recovery of the nightclub after months of legal and operational challenges.
