Lagos State University and Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe have denied reports suggesting that the LASU Epe campus has been transformed into the newly established federal university.

The clarification was made in a joint statement released on Wednesday through LASU’s official communication channels and signed by the registrars of both institutions, Mr. Emmanuel A. Fanu and Mr. Kabiru Olawale Okugbesan.

According to the universities, the information circulating online is inaccurate and does not reflect the current status of the LASU Epe campus, which they said remains fully owned and operated by LASU.

The statement noted that the campus continues to house major academic units, including engineering, environmental sciences, agriculture, pre-degree programmes, sandwich courses, and several research centres.

Both institutions explained that FUSTECH is temporarily making use of selected facilities within the campus as part of a collaborative arrangement to support the university’s early operations.

They stressed that the temporary sharing of infrastructure does not affect LASU’s ownership, governance, or academic activities, adding that both universities function independently with separate administrative systems and programmes.

The arrangement, according to the statement, will continue until FUSTECH moves to its permanent location.

The institutions urged the public, prospective students, and parents to disregard misleading reports and rely on verified updates from official sources.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, accurate information dissemination, and the maintenance of academic standards.
