The immediate past governor of Ondo state, Olusegun Mimiko said the need for Nigeria to be re-negotiated is imminent to avert the level of insecurity and allow for uneven competition among the geo-political zones that make up the component call Nigeria .
He warned that the clamour for restructuring of Nigerian state has been a collective request by many regions of the country which he said should not be politicized.
Mimiko notes that the present challenges that presents itself in form insecurity, Insurgency and Herdsmen militia daily mayhem, need the general contribution of all to allow for regional government to control the affairs of their component unit resources.
The former governor of Ondo state stated this in Awka at the Ohaneze Ndigbo summit,, urged the present administration to consider the people’s call as divine to salvage the nation from its present economic and security states .
Former minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana and senator representing Anambra central district Senator Victor Umeh advocate for a renewed vigour among the geo political zones that make up of Nigeria to join the south east zone to enable in the clamour for a restructured Nigeria have it realized in the shortest period of time.
They stressed the need for the present administration to consider additional state be created in the south east and implementation of the 2014 constitutional conference that according to them has the greater input of notable Nigerians.
