The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and the Osun State Muslim Community have warned politicians against any act that is capable of causing public unrest ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the State.
The representatives of the religious bodies spoke at an interreligious programme held in Ikire, Osun State to seek the face of God ahead of the election.
Preachers at the event admonished politicians to shun divisive tendencies in the interest of the people they want to service.
Correspondent, Abass Okandeji reports that the organiser of the interdenominational prayer who is the Osun state Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Elder Peter Babalola reiterated the essence of seeking the face of God.
The event witnessed the presence of traditional rulers, Christian and Muslim leaders as well as politicians from across all the local governments in the state.
Special prayers were offered for peace and development of the state and Nigeria at large.
