HBO FINALLY DROPS A NEW FOOTAGE FROM THE UPCOMING FINAL SEASON(8) OF GAME OF THRONES

Read Time:1 Minute, 12 Second

The US broadcaster unveiled a few seconds of footage from the show’s anticipated eighth season during last night’s Golden Globes ceremony, showing two key characters meeting for the very first time.

The brief clip shows Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) arriving in Winterfell with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and introducing her to Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).

Turner’s character then formally greets the Mother of Dragons, telling her: “Winterfell is yours, your grace.”

The clip was shared as part of a showcase for HBO’s 2019 programming, which also featured new footage from returning hits like True Detective, Veep and Big Little Lies, along with new shows such as Euphoria and comic book adaptation Watchmen.

It comes just a few weeks after HBO shared an initial teaser for the Game of Thrones finale which featured an intriguing CGI graphic of Westeros being engulfed in fire and ice but baffled fans due to the lack of new footage.

Earlier this month, Clarke teased fans with new hints about the final season, claiming that the truth about Jon Snow’s parentage will “cut deep” for her character – and will have a major impact on episodes to come.

“Daenerys’ lifelong dream has been to avenge her family and claim her rightful seat on the Iron Throne,” she told TV Insider. “She truly loves Jon. Were she to find out about his title, it would cut deep.”
