It seems Olamide believes he can be compared to late Nigerian music sensation, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, who he said never, paid any international artiste to collaborate with him, yet he is still revered all over the world.
He was speaking recently on Hip TV, where he revealed that if Fela didn’t hustle to collaborate with international stars why he should.
The most talented rapper (for now), has divulged that he will never pay to collaborate with an international artiste.
He said Fela didn’t even do any international collaboration before they recognised him in the international market.
‘It’s not about hustling for that sh*t; I won’t hustle for that sh*t.
Everywhere I’ve been to right now, is based on grace of God — I just want to hustle for my stuff, live my dream — we are not bothered‘, he said. ‘To hustle for anyone to be on my track, that’s a no, no. I’m on my Fela P right now. Fela didn’t hustle for anybody to be on his track, he lived his life. He made his music, and when he died, they started copying his style.’ He explained.
