NIGERIA’S RAMON AZEEZ JOINS GRANADA
Spanish LaLiga promotion chasers Granada have improved their squad with the acquisition of Nigerian midfielder Ramon Azeez from fellow second division side Lugo, the club have announced.
Azeez who represented Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil signed a three and half year contract with Granada who are top of the second division and prime for promotion to the LaLiga next season.
Granada are presently one point ahead of second place Malaga as the battle for promotion enters another level after 23 round of games, and the addition of the Nigerian is meant to improve their chances of gaining promotion.
Since turning 18 in 2011 after starring for Nigeria at the U17 World Youth Championship hosted by Nigeria he has played all of his career in Spain starting out at UD Almeria before his move to CD Lugo two seasons ago.
26-year-old Azeez is still widely regarded in Spain with his ability to hit short and long passes with accuracy plus his calmness in possession making him a standout among other midfielders in the second division.
