The Blackstars of Ghana narrowly avoided a shameful defeat in the hands of the squirrels of Benin on Tuesday in their opening group game.
The game which ended 2-2 saw Ghana HO behind in the opening 2 minutes of the clash with a goal by Mikael Pote.
Andre Ayew ensured Ghana responded well in the 9th minute as he powered in a brilliant left-footed shot into the right side of the post.
His brother, Jordan put them ahead with a 42 minute goal before the halftime.
However, Ghana were down to ten men in the 54th minute after centre defender, John Boye received second booking and was sent off.
Pote completed his Brace for the Squirrels on the 62nd minute and ensured they steal a point off almighty Ghana.
Earlier, Cameroon who are in the same group saw off Guinea-Bissau by 2-nil to claim the top spot with 3 maximum points.
