POGBA RACIALLY ABUSED, RECEIVES DEATH THREAT AFTER PENALTY MISS AGAINST WOLVES
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba suffered racial abuse on social media after he missed a penalty which could have given his side a 2-1 lead against Wolves on Monday night.
There appeared to be a debate between Pogba and teammate Marcus Rashford over who should take the spot-kick, with Pogba eventually taking control and taking the ball from Rashford.
He went on to miss, however, after Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio dived to his right to save, and the game ended in a draw.
Shortly after the incident some abhorrent posts were spotted on Twitter which aimed racial abuse towards Pogba, with the Frenchman called a “n*****” and other derogatory terms.
One post read: “Pogba you f****** n*****”, while another user said: “Pogba is a n*****”. Another vile post read: “Pogba… you f****** fat m***** looking n*****.”
One disgusting jibe threatened to “kill that b****** f****** gorilla.”
Dozens of similar Tweets in the aftermath of the 1-1 draw have been seen.
