SHOOTING STARS MANAGEMENT CONDEMNS ATTACK ON SPORTS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN AROLE
After Sunday’s NPFL matchday 29 encounter between the club and MFM of Lagos, the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has strongly denounced the hoodlum attack on Honourable Gbenga Adewusi Arole, Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council.
The hoodlums attempted to cause mayhem at the arena by threatening to demolish facilities, but were stopped by the Oyo State Sports Council, led by Honourable Adewusi, and the Oyo State Football Association management.
The Oluyole Warriors’ management reacted angrily to the hoodlums’ attack on the Sports Council boss after the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, especially because the incident occurred hours after the match had ended.
“We strongly condemn the unlawful behaviour of a few hoodlums who attacked the Chairman of the Oyo State Sports Council, Honourable Gbega Adewusi Arole, following our game against MFM on Sunday.”
“We emphasise unequivocally that such barbaric conduct by those involved were uncalled for and unnecessary, as the attack was carried out on the chairman, who was attempting to prevent them from vandalising the Lekan Salami Stadium’s property.”
