AKOD LEADS WEEKLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE, INTENSIFIES DRAINAGE CLEARANCE IN IKEJA

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Thursday led a team of environmental sanitation workers on the weekly environmental sanitation exercise aimed at ensuring a cleaner, healthier and flood-free Ikeja.
The exercise commenced along Awolowo Way, extended to Allen Avenue and continued to Kudirat Abiola Way, the boundary between Ikeja Local Government and Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area.

During the operation, the team supervised the clearing of over 100 drainage channels, including the desilting and evacuation of waste from all 32 manholes along Awolowo Way, to improve the free flow of stormwater and prevent flooding.
