A Lagos State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Igbosere has adjourned proceedings in the case involving a TikToker, Yusuf Olamilekan, who is facing charges over the alleged publication of nude photographs and threats against another individual, to July 3, 2026, for a report on possible out-of-court settlement.
The defendant, 32, popularly known on TikTok as “BINTINLAYEAZEEZ 1991,” was initially arraigned on June 1, 2026, on a two-count charge of unlawful display of nude photographs and threat to life.
At Monday’s resumed hearing, defence counsel, Tokunbo Olawuyi, informed the court that both parties were considering an amicable resolution outside litigation and requested time to continue discussions. He also stated that the defence was yet to receive the proof of evidence.
Responding, the prosecutor, Adewale Sodiq, told the court that although the matter had been scheduled for trial, no prosecution witness was available. He added that the prosecution intended to apply for a virtual hearing arrangement for the nominal complainant.
Sodiq, however, raised concerns over the defendant’s conduct after being granted bail, alleging that the complainant had reported continued cyberbullying on social media.
According to the prosecution, such actions appeared inconsistent with efforts to resolve the matter peacefully.
Magistrate Kemi Awoyinka observed that the nature of the allegations made the matter suitable for possible settlement outside the courtroom and granted the adjournment request.
The case was subsequently adjourned until July 3, 2026, for an update on settlement discussions.
According to the prosecution, the alleged offences occurred in July 2025 in Isolo, Lagos State, where Olamilekan allegedly posted nude photographs of the complainant, Idowu Adebunwo, on social media and issued threats against him.
The prosecution said the alleged acts contravened Sections 168(1)(d) and 56(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Olamilekan had pleaded not guilty to the charges and was earlier granted bail in the sum of ₦500,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
