The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Christopher Etta, has assured dissatisfied party members that steps are being taken to address concerns arising from the recently concluded ward and local government congresses.
Etta gave the assurance on Monday during an interactive session with journalists in Calabar, stating that the party remains committed to dialogue, reconciliation and internal unity as it prepares for future political activities.
He revealed that committees established to review complaints and issues stemming from the congresses had already received reports from the northern and southern senatorial districts, while the committee for the central senatorial district was expected to submit its findings soon.
According to him, all party members remain valuable stakeholders in the APC, and their grievances will be carefully addressed through ongoing engagement and consultation.
Etta stressed that resolving disagreements within the party is a continuous process aimed at strengthening cohesion and fostering a united front.

The APC chairman urged members to remain loyal to the party, expressing confidence that the reconciliation efforts would further consolidate unity across the state chapter.
He noted that the submission of committee reports would not mark the end of the reconciliation process, adding that party leaders would continue reaching out to members and stakeholders to promote harmony.
Speaking on the party’s relationship with the media, Etta described journalists as critical partners in the democratic process and pledged continued collaboration to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information.
He also advised media practitioners to verify allegations before publication, especially on politically sensitive matters, warning that unverified reports could fuel misinformation and unnecessary tension.
Commenting on the APC-led administration, Etta appealed to Nigerians to be patient with ongoing reforms, noting that temporary difficulties are often associated with efforts to address long-standing national challenges.
He maintained that while the reform process may be challenging, it is necessary for rebuilding the country and achieving sustainable development.
Etta expressed optimism that the policies and reforms being implemented by the APC would ultimately yield lasting benefits for Nigerians and contribute to national progress.
