The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 111 personnel from Special Forces Course 13/2026, strengthening its manpower for ongoing air and joint military operations nationwide.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, noting that the ceremony took place at the Regiment Training Centre Annex (RTCA) in Bauchi.

He said the programme was an intensive training exercise designed to produce highly skilled, combat-ready operatives capable of responding to Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who served as Special Guest of Honour, was represented by the Chief of Training, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal A.Y. Dari.

Addressing the graduating personnel, the CAS congratulated them for completing one of the service’s most demanding training programmes and urged them to maintain professionalism, discipline, and courage in their operations.

He stated that the effectiveness of any military force depends not only on its equipment but also on the quality and determination of its personnel.

“You are now part of an elite cadre entrusted with critical responsibilities in safeguarding our nation. Serve with honour, remain mission-focused, and ensure your actions reflect the values of the Nigerian Air Force,” he said.

The training equipped the graduates with specialised knowledge, tactical competence, and operational resilience required for Special Forces missions in complex environments.

Throughout the course, participants underwent rigorous physical, mental, and tactical drills aimed at strengthening leadership, teamwork, adaptability, and mission effectiveness in support of air and joint operations.

Earlier, the Commandant of the Regiment Training Centre Annex Bauchi, Squadron Leader E.L. Akpan, thanked the Air Chief for his continued support for Special Forces training and capacity development.

He reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to producing competent and mission-ready personnel capable of operating effectively across diverse environments.

The graduation of 111 personnel marks another milestone in the Air Force’s drive to enhance human capacity development and operational excellence.

The NAF reiterated its commitment to building a professional and combat-ready force capable of delivering decisive air power in coordination with other security agencies to strengthen national security.

Dignitaries at the event included the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal A.G. Kehinde; the Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, Air Vice Marshal A. Idris (represented by Air Commodore Y. Bashir); the Director of Regiment, Air Commodore Olayera; senior military officers; and representatives of sister security agencies.

The ceremony also featured tactical demonstrations by the graduating personnel, including obstacle crossing drills, combat self-defence techniques, and air assault exercises showcasing their operational readiness and teamwork.
