A video showing the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly presented himself as the Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has surfaced online.

Adeyemi was arrested after the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant against him for failing to appear in court for his scheduled arraignment.

The footage circulating on social media shows police operatives questioning Adeyemi shortly after his arrest.

Justice Mohammed Umar had ordered his arrest after he failed to appear before the court to answer an eight-count charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, involving allegations of forgery, fraud and impersonation.

Although the matter was listed for hearing, Adeyemi did not appear in court, despite his lawyer, Genesis Francis, announcing his appearance before the judge.

Reacting to the development, human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, described the arrest as “the biggest cover-up ever.”

In a post on X on Tuesday, Sowore alleged that the arrest and reported treatment of Adeyemi suggested an attempt to conceal facts rather than uncover them.

He further argued that if authorities were genuinely interested in a thorough investigation, President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, should also be investigated.

Sowore additionally alleged that an individual reportedly linked to the collection of a N400 million bribe on behalf of the Chief of Staff had died under unclear circumstances and claimed that the hotel allegedly connected to the transaction had since been demolished.

He also accused the Federal Government of frustrating efforts to achieve justice in the matter.

As of the time of reporting, neither the Presidency nor Gbajabiamila had publicly responded to the allegations.
