President Bola Tinubu has said his administration did not promise Nigerians miracles, but committed to deliberate and structured reforms aimed at improving living conditions across the country.

Tinubu made the remarks through the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, at the inauguration of the seven-kilometer access road bypassing the second runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday.

The President said his administration has remained focused on delivering the “renewed hope agenda” despite prevailing economic challenges.

“When we came into office, we did not promise you miracles that would appear from thin air,” he said.

“We promised you structural, calculated, and deliberate progress. We promise a renewed hope agenda that will touch the lives of every Nigerian citizen, not just in economic statistics but also in the reality of their daily struggles.”

Tinubu also defended the economic reforms introduced under his administration, insisting they were difficult but necessary.

“The reforms we embarked on three years ago were never going to be easy,” he said.

“We made hard choices. But they were necessary choices. Hard choices today mean a stronger Nigeria tomorrow.

“We are not building for headlines. We are building for generations to come. We will keep working day and night until every Nigerian feels the impact of good governance.”

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who represented the President at the event, also commended the quality of the newly completed road project.

“Let me just tell you a secret. When I was coming on the road, I took up a newspaper to read, and as I was reading, the newspaper was not shaking. I said, this is a fantastic job,” he said.
